Homeopathy for Skin: Here is the Cheapest, Natural Toner

Homeopathy for skin can curtail and cure painful or embarrassing skin conditions. Homeopathy uses plants, roots, and minerals instead of prescription medicine for treating infection and disease. This method of healing has solved health issues and realigned people’s inner systems for millennia.

Great skincare can be expensive. In many cases, beauty regimens can be worse than using nothing, depending on the quality of products you buy. Read about clinical trials and trustworthy research on raw apple cider vinegar (ACV) for skin. Plus, I share my experience using it as a daily toner for years.

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) with the Mother Homeopathy

Raw vinegar is biodegradable and non-toxic; it’s completely natural. Every type of unfiltered vinegar contains the vinegar mother, which is acetic acid bacteria, live microorganisms (probiotics). This healthy bacterium carries anti-microbial protection, proven to slow the growth of bad bacteria, fungi, viruses, and other harmful pathogens inside the body and out.

In particular, apple vinegar is great for the skin and hair because of the amino acids, organic acids, and vitamins and minerals from apples.

  • Acetic acid has proven effective in more serious bacterial infections of the heal, foot, and leg under clinical observation, as well as being effective in fighting Acinetobacter baumannii, Proteus vulgaris, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and other bacteria topically.
  • Citric acid slowed Propionibacterium acnes growth, a bacterium causing acne.
  • Lactic acid showed slight improvement of epidermal changes (evenness, dullness, or redness). Other studies show it helped lessen discoloration and helped fight the fungi Penicillium discolor.
  • Succinic acid has also shown to inhibit Propionibacterium acnes (P. acnes).

Pasteurized vinegar filters out this “good gunk.” As such, pasteurized ACV can be used, but it does not carry the same antimicrobial resistance as mother-infused ACV.

The raw ACV skin homeopathy remedies below come from credible research, but always consult a doctor. Always shake a bottle of raw ACV to evenly distribute the mother. Most importantly, raw ACV holds much stronger anti-microbial protection than pasteurized. Don’t cut corners when it comes to your health.

  • Add 1-2 cups ACV to very warm, not hot bathwater. Rinse off. Acetic and other acids can fight and reduce urinary tract infections, yeast infections, eczema, psoriasis, and more.
  • ACV soaks for eczema may help in a one tablespoon ACV to one cup warm water solution. Soak clean fabric pieces in solution then place on skin. Cover with a clean, dry cloth. Leave on for 3 hours-overnight. Rinse off.
  • Treat outer ear infections. Mix equal parts ACV with warm water or rubbing alcohol (also antibacterial). With a dropper, add 5-10 drops into the ear. Lay down with this side facing up so the drops can soak in. Covering this ear with a cotton ball is also highly advised.
  • A one tablespoon raw ACV to ¼ cup coconut oil moisturizer can also treat eczema, psoriasis, or other conditions by reducing and soothing inflammation and itchiness.
  • ACV’s antifungal and antibacterial resistance could treat and prevent nail fungus and warts, although no clinical trials exist. Mix 2-parts raw ACV with 1-part water.  Put the solution on with a cotton ball, tape down, leave on for 10-15 minutes, then wash off. Alternatively, you can soak your feet or hands in equal parts of ACV and water for 15-30 minutes twice daily. Rinse off.

Raw ACV Toner, a.k.a. Dirty Water Toner (can also be used as Dirty Water Conditioning Rinse and Dirty Water Mouthwash)

  • Always shake before using to evenly distribute the vinegar mother.
  • In a plastic or glass container, start with 1-part raw ACV (1/4 cup) to 3-parts water (3/4 cup). I reused an astringent container. See picture to right.
  • Sensitive skin: 1-part raw ACV to 4-parts water
  • Oily/acne-prone skin (or if you want something stronger): 1-part raw ACV to 2-parts water (1/3 cup ACV to 2/3 cup water)
  • Dab toner on face or other areas with a cotton square/circle morning and night.
  • Do not wash off. Yes, at first your face might smell like vinegar. Give it a second, and you will smell like the God of Sweet Apples of this beautiful, brown Earth.
  • Put toner in a spray bottle for a refreshing, faint apple face spritz during hot days outside.
  • Be careful with dabbing raw vinegar undiluted on your face as a blemish spot treatment.  Even though I do it all the time, I only put it on a specific area for a day or two twice daily.
  • Save and reuse bottles by cleaning them out and taking the labels off. In this case, Goo Gone is my savior and takes off various sizes and types of labels easily. Yes, the 8-ounce bottle I have (link below), will last years. This one even comes with a handy label/sticker remover. Mine didn’t. Buy it now. You can thank me later.

  • Don’t have any bottles at home you like? Choose from the options below.

  • Here are TSA approved plastic toiletry bottles (cannot be larger than 3.4 oz. each). You can only pack glass bottles and/or larger than 3.4 oz. in checked luggage.

Raw Apple Cider Vinegar Toner

I have used an ACV toner on and off for years. To show the benefits I completely stopped for a few weeks, then started again. In the left picture below, August 19, 2020, I notice more redness around my nose and other areas. On the right, October 27, 2020, the redness on my face is gone. Please be kind, as these are unflattering pictures of me.

Overall, I definitely have less blemishes and redness. Although, these changes weren’t quick. Only after weeks of doing this remedy consistently did my skin condition improve.

I have put undiluted raw ACV directly on blemishes as a personal experiment. Dermatologists highly advise not to do this, and unquestionably, they are correct. Each time, this homeopathic treatment worked equally as well after two days as the prescription acne spot treatment I have (Tazorac). Although, after two days, I definitely noticed redness and slight pain from putting undiluted vinegar on my face.

In the picture below, there is redness around my right nostril.  Again, I was aware that this is not advised by medical professionals, but wanted to do my own experiment for my readers.

For me, ACV skin homeopathy is worth it. An ACV toner is cheap, natural, and very refreshing. It smells better than store bought brands and does not burn my skin. Multiple skin blogs say that ACV makes your face smell like vinegar. This is extremely exaggerated, as the vinegar smell goes away within a minute.

I am 38 years old. I think my skin looks good without any make-up, and I attribute this to daily raw ACV.

ACV Homeopathy for Skin Takeaways

Of course, ACV may not help with more serious conditions of eczema or psoriasis. For example, one study found the topical use of ACV did not improve eczema. On the other hand, multiple studies yielded that consumption of fermented foods with acetic acid bacteria did restrain eczema.

ACV may not treat moderate to severe acne, but can help prevent and reduce mild breakouts and blemishes.

However, every case resulting in a chemical burn stems from extended periods of time when ACV was left on under a bandage. Skin does not breathe as well under a bandage. In this case, I personally decided to try out this experiment. You decide what’s best for your skin.

All in all, everybody is different. Therefore, what may work for me, may not work for you. If your condition still worsens on any treatment I suggested, you may have more serious health issues. Consult your doctor immediately.

Did you know that internal health can be tied directly to dry skin, chronic skin diseases, and skin disorders?

Get the full list of internal health benefits from drinking raw ACV daily.

Luckily, I have never had to use ACV on my skin other than as a toner. Although, adding it to my bathwater has decreased muscle soreness.

I have been drinking Dirty Water daily for five years, and have not had any type of infection, cold, respiratory illness, or stomach bug since.

When it comes to your skin, just like your diet, organic is best. Try raw ACV homeopathy for skin. It could be what your body needs.

Watch my YouTube video on how to make Dirty Water Toner, which triples as a conditioning rinse and mouthwash.
